I respectfully acknowledge that Thompson Rivers University is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc people, specifically the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc’ulucw. I honour their stewardship of this land and their enduring presence in this region.

As an international student who moved to Canada in December 2023, this acknowledgment is deeply meaningful to me. It reminds me that my learning journey takes place on lands with rich histories and ongoing Indigenous contributions. Recognizing this is a step toward reconciliation and inclusive practice.

This understanding aligns with the values of EDUC 5130, where inclusion extends beyond classroom strategies to address systemic inequalities. I am committed to learning from Indigenous voices and reflecting this awareness in my future teaching.
